Construction Begins on March 25, 2013....Please attempt to avoid the center of town between the hours of 7 AM through 5 PM. The roads that will be affected during the construction are Main Street, Old Bridge Street, Marsh Road, Nashua Road, and Acorn Lane....April 15th - April 19th Acorn Lane will be the only road closed to all traffic.

  • March 6, 2013 NHDOT Roundabout Project Spring Start-up Meeting

    ·         Beginning March 25th, weather permitting; Continental Paving, Inc. will resume work for the 2013 construction season, focusing first on Acorn Lane then moving on to the Town roundabout at the entrance to Village Green.

    ·        Third week of April (coinciding with NH school vacation week) Continental will do work along Marsh Road along the side of Town Hall to pull back loam, remove trees and complete drainage work in that area.

    ·         The sidewalk between the Town Hall entrance and the rear parking lot will be impacted at the connection point. An alternate path will be provided.

    ·         Night work is tentatively scheduled for April 26th to perform water line work. Local residents will be notified ahead of time of any disruptions to water service. All disruptions will be scheduled to occur overnight.

    ·         While it was not discussed at the 3/6/13 meeting, the Fire Chief subsequently mentioned he would like to use the vacated fire station for training just before it is demolished. Hopefully this can be coordinated.

    ·         In the May timeframe the work will be focused on the Common Street area.

    ·         Continental, NHDOT and the Planning Director will coordinate to ensure the Police Department, School Superintendent and bus company are informed in advance of temporary road closure

    ·         In general, the completion of the roundabouts to binder course is dependent on the time it takes the utility companies to complete their work. For this reason, the project completion date is 2014.
